Age, ailments and illnesses effect everybody in varying and different ways, however, at GMC Projects we realise that this often means that you need to consider adaptations to your homes or building in order to make life easier and to relieve day to day problems.
These minor adaptations can make a real difference to your life and at GMC Projects we work to provide you with the best possible solutions. So if you are having difficulty within your home such as going up and down steps, bathing and showering, GMC Health & Disability are here to help you manage these difficulties and physical aspects and make living in your home as comfortable as possible.
At GMC Projects we can help you cope with the day to day physical aspects within your home, and make your home more comfortable by making the appropriate changes. These can range from grab rails, hand rails, bathing aids, bathroom adaptations and minor works inside and outside your home.
GMC Projects are Trustmark approved for home adaptations and minor works, we also belong to The Buy With Confidence Scheme, Safe Contractor, CHAS and Constructionline to name but a few.
There is no catch unless the adaptation you require is likely to cost more than £1,000, or needs a more expert assessment of your needs, we will advise you how to contact the local authority (council) for your area, who can arrange for any required assessment.
The council will also advise you how to apply for a Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG), to help pay for the work. A DFG is subject to a means test but if you receive certain types of state benefit or have a low income with savings of less than £6,000 you will probably not have to pay anything towards the cost.
