A fire door isn’t just a requirement; in the event of a fire, it could save many lives too. If you are making any changes to your home or commercial building, it is possible that your building inspector or fire officer will require fire doors to be fitted at specific points.
Steel fire doors are generally required in between homes and garages, in between business and residential areas in mixed-use buildings, to protect escape routes such as corridors and hallways and in many more locations. If you aren’t 100% certain whether or not a fire door is required, it is best to check with a building inspector or fire officer to make sure you comply with building regulations.
